I spent some time walking solo in the far north of Scandinavia – Lofoten Islands, Senja, Andoya & Lyngen Alps. 2023- miles to go before I sleep
The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. -Robert Frost “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” We did some traveling this spring and summer – through Idaho and Washington, Montana and Wyoming, Colorado and…
oregon coast
We did a short trip to Eugene, Oregon and the Oregon coast this January. This is NOT the ideal time to visit due to the rainy weather. However, the weather reminds me of the South Island of New Zealand, west coast of Ireland and Scotland. The light with the stormy skies was magical.

Salvador Dali – “No way I’m returning to Mexico. I can’t stand being in a place more surreal than my paintings.” We will definitely be going back to Ciudad de Mexico and San Miguel de Allende.
fall’s swan song
A weekend fall farewell photography tour in the Kootenays, Canada. The larches are still holding on to their colors and their needles. In some places the aspens and cottonwoods are still braving the winter storms. It is fall’s last hurrah. The swan song, literally. Watch the video below. Just happened to stop at Sullivan Lake…

It is fun to go visit new places. It is also (more) fun to see familiar places in a new light! The second way to see new light is to go to familiar places in different seasons, different cloud cover and different times of the day. I must have walked on the Doudy Draw…
