street photography in france 2018

Posted on 2019-04-082019-04-26 by Sameer Oza

France is a great place to photograph people. 2 reasons – first the people are very colorful and often fashionable, the second and more important reason – I don’t speak French. I would just gesture and ask them if I could “make a portrait” (as Eric Kim says) of them. If they cussed me out, I would never know the difference. During our 3 weeks in France, my pet project was photographing guys with small dogs. I would see an interesting subject, run across the street and ask – most people obliged. My 3 teenage daughters were supremely embarrassed by my conduct, which made it all the more fun. Here is a link to an album from walking in France:

It includes a lot of pictures of guys with little dogs, but also some interesting perspectives of France.
