ansel adams – early photos

Posted on 2019-04-212019-04-26 by Sameer Oza

An excellent Ansel Adams retrospective at the Longmont museum. So inspiring!

Many viewers are familiar with the Adams’ heroic, high-contrast prints from the 1970s. Much less well known are the intimate prints that the artist crafted earlier in his career. Ansel Adams: Early Works  focuses on these masterful small prints from the 1920s into the 1950s. By capturing the abject power of nature, Adams changed our understanding of landscape photography, solidifying it as a legitimate form of modern art.
